شَهْرُ اللهِ المُحَرَّمُ ، وَأفْضَلُ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الفَرِيضَةِ

“The best fasting after fasting in Ramadan is fasting in the month of Muharram, and the best prayer after fard prayer is night prayer,” (HR. Muslim).
Following are the Virtues of the Month of Muharram, let’s see what are the virtues.
1. The holy month
Muharram is one of the holy months in Islam. This is contained in the word of Allah which mentions the four sacred months in Islam, namely, QS At Tawbah verse 36:
God bless you مَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ ۚ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِي هِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ ۚ وَقَاتِلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَافَّةً كَمَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ كَافَّةً ۚ وَاعْلَم ُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Meaning: “Surely the number of months according to Allah is twelve months, (as) in Allah’s decree when He created the heavens and the earth, among which there were four forbidden months. That (statute) is the straight religion, so do not wrong yourself in (the month the four) and fight all the polytheists as they also fight you all. And know that Allah is with those who fear Allah.” (QS. At Tawba: 36).
